30 years

Three decades of self-service engineering

From R&D in 1996 and the first prototypes in 1998, to the first vending card payment shipped in 1999 — through Akbil closed-loop, contactless and meal cards — to a full Android edge and cloud platform. The payment problem taught us the machines; the machines became the platform.

1998
First prototypes — Mobicom's award for the first domestic product on Mobitex, Ericsson's wireless packet-data network. Turkey itself got mobile packet data three years later.
1999
First product in the field: wireless card payment on vending machines (VM-POS over Mobitex), with a Pepsi-Cola Türkiye deployment on Yapı Kredi Bankası infrastructure.
2008
Contactless credit and debit acceptance, via Garanti Bankası.
2010
CSC — closed-loop corporate credit: staff buy from machines with the access card they already carry (AnyID), on a company-defined credit.
2015
Transit cards, İstanbulkart among them.
2018
The meal-card schemes, one after another: Setcard, then Multinet and Ticket/Edenred in 2019, Metropol in 2020.
2020

We integrate payment directly into PLC-controlled machines over Modbus — car washes, arcades, massage chairs and custom industrial automation. Written as an engineering note: problem, protocol, result.
